Clear Guidance for Busy Lives

Life doesn’t slow down just because you have big financial decisions to make. Between work, family, and everything in between, it’s easy to feel like you’re always two steps behind.

Method Financial Planning is here to help you catch your breath.

Guidance You Can Count On

As fiduciaries, our job is simple: put your interests first and give you advice to help you make decisions you feel good about and move you towards your goals. No selling. No pressure.

What makes our process unique is how we break things down. Big decisions become smaller steps. Complicated topics become easy to understand. i.e, you won’t get a giant overwhelming binder with your plan that gathers dust. Instead, you have a bite-sized next step and know exactly why it matters.

This ‘Method’ gives you a sense of control and calm, so your finances feel like one less thing to worry about.

Financial Planner and Investment Portfolio Manager

Decades of Expertise, Calm Leadership, and a Deeply Personal Approach

I’m Katie Burke founder of Method Financial Planning and a CFP® professional with more than two decades of experience helping individuals and families get clarity and confidence in their financial lives.

After more than 10 years in the financial services industry, I saw a clear need for something different: financial planning that is personal, organized, and built around real life, not generic assumptions and mountains of paperwork. So in 2015, I started Method Financial Planning with exactly this in mind.

My approach is shaped not only by my professional training, but by my own life. I’m a wife and mom, my Google calendar doesn’t see a lot of white space, and we have faced our own unexpected life-changing events, including my husband’s serious illness, which meant I took on even more overnight.

So I truly do understand what it’s like to shoulder the weight of big life changes and to worry about making the right choices, protecting your family, and staying steady.

In this past decade of serving clients at Method, I’ve seen the same fears, questions, and hopes reflected back to me across countless families. I carry that perspective into every plan I create, offering structure, clarity, and support so you never have to navigate big (or small) financial decisions alone. And when the unexpected comes, you’re prepared and able to take the next steps with confidence.

I look forward to serving you and yours in the same way.

The Supporting Team

At Method every client receives a high level of attention and care. Katie leads all financial plans, meets directly with clients, and oversees every detail from strategy to implementation.

She is supported by dedicated team members who help with operations, paperwork, and behind-the-scenes coordination. This helps ensure that your experience feels organized, timely, and smooth.

What’s The Difference Between a Certified Financial Planner® and a Financial Advisor?

The term financial advisor can describe many types of professionals with different backgrounds, training levels, and responsibilities. Some advisors focus on investments only, some sell financial products, and others offer limited planning services.

A Certified Financial Planner® has completed extensive education and training across all areas of personal finance including taxes, investments, retirement, insurance, and estate planning. CFP® professionals must pass a rigorous exam, follow strict ethical standards, and act in their clients’ best interest.
